Last Wednesday, Jurgen Klopp revealed that Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota will be out for a while with injuries. This made Liverpool’s worst fears come true.

Jurgen Klopp thông báo tin buồn về Alisson và Jota

Alisson, the goalkeeper, hurt his leg near the end of the 1-1 draw at Manchester City, another high-flying Premier League team. Even though he was able to finish the game, it was clear that the Brazilian was in pain as he walked off the field.

Jota, on the other hand, couldn’t keep playing because he hurt his knee in the same game. Luis Diaz came on for him nine minutes into the second half.

Klopp told the press at his pre-game press conference for tonight’s Europa League game against LASK at home that both players will need time in the treatment rooms at the AXA Training Center.

The two players have joined Stefan Bajcetic, Andy Robertson, and Thiago Alcantara on the bench. The Reds have 10 games between now and New Year’s Day, which is a busy time.

And here are the most recent information and return dates for Liverpool’s injured players.

Alisson Becker

Alisson will definitely not play against LASK, and his manager said that the game against Fulham on Sunday, as well as the Premier League games at Sheffield United next Wednesday (December 6) and Crystal Palace on Saturday (December 9), may be too soon for the club’s undisputed No. 1.

Klopp said, “With Ali, it’s a little less, so we’ll see.” Not one day at a time. He can’t play tomorrow or Sunday, and probably not next week either. But after that, he should be able to play again. Is Alisson really as bad as we thought? “No, but it’s bad enough.”

When they are likely to come back: December 17, Manchester United (H), Premier League

Diogo Jota

While Klopp was positive about Alisson, he didn’t seem as positive about Jota. Diogo will need a little more time, but we don’t know how much longer,” the Reds manager said about the forward’s health. We need to check it out.”

That means Liverpool might not be able to use the forward, who has scored eight goals this season, for the rest of the year.

Date of expected return: Not known

Andy Robertson

Since Robertson hurt his shoulder in October, Kostas Tsimikas is likely to fill in for him at least until January. Robertson is still a long way from being able to play again. Since he hit Unai Simon during Scotland’s Euro 2024 playoff against Spain, Robertson hasn’t played for his club or his country.

The left back gave a report on his health last week: “So far, so good. It’s been three weeks since my surgery, so everything is going well.” I need to take things one step at a time and week by week. Up until now, everything has gone well, and we hope that keeps up.

The return date is set for January 2023.

Thiago Alcantara

Thiago should also be able to play again in January, if all goes well. The seven months he spent getting better, though, taught him that coming back from illness rarely goes as planned.

It was thought that cutting the Spaniard’s 2022–23 season short would help him get back in shape in time for the summer. He hasn’t played for Liverpool since April’s 2-1 win at West Ham United. But Thiago hasn’t been able to do that. He took a short break from training in the summer and then had a setback early in the new season.

It’s been going on for a while, and we can’t put any kind of pressure on,” Klopp told reporters about the player at the beginning of this month. I think he’ll be back around the beginning of the New Year. That seems like a reasonable time to try.

The return date is set for January 2023.

Stefan Bajcetic

Liverpool - – Bajcetic är fantastisk att jobba med

Like Thiago, Bajcetic has had an injury-plagued season and has only played in two games across all categories.

The young Spanish player hurt his adductor muscle in March and has been making slow progress ever since. He is now facing another setback.

Bajcetic recently said, “Because I had the same injury before, but on the other side, when I was in pain, I kind of thought about that, it was going to be the same.” I thought, “It can’t be the same, I need to keep playing,” though.

“But I looked it over. Scan results are always negative, which is very mean. When they called me at home, they said, “You have a stress response.” It was clearly a hard time, but I think I handled it pretty well. I saw it as a chance to get stronger and do some things better. I just tried to keep my mind upbeat.”
