The stars of Manchester United were seen in a bad mood when they got to Carrington on Thursday afternoon.
The Red Devils and Galatasaray played to a 3-3 tie on Wednesday night, which hurt their chances of making it to the next round of the Champions League.
United was ahead for most of the game, but they were pegged back, and in the end they only got a point on the road, which put them at the bottom of Group A.
It was clear that the United stars were still thinking about what happened last night when they showed up to training on Thursday. Many of them didn’t look very happy.
Players like Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho, who both scored that night, were seen walking up to Carrington with blank looks on their faces.
People paid extra attention to goalkeeper Andre Onana after his game against Galatasaray, when he let in two poor goals.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper got a lot of flak for the second goal, when he dropped the ball into his own net and gave Galatasaray a chance to win.
So it makes sense that the former Ajax goalie looked sad when he pulled up to Carrington in his Porsche Cayenne on Thursday evening.
It was also seen that Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Rasmus Hojlund, and Antony got to the exercise ground.
Experts, including former Red Devil Rio Ferdinand, slammed United’s stars for losing the defense during the 3-3 draw.
A French newspaper called L’Equipe gave the United team very bad grades. For example, goalie Onana got only three out of ten stars.
Even United’s outfielders were punished; Antony, Amrabat, and Lindelof all scored only four goals.
With a score of only 4.9, Ten Hag’s team once again failed to perform when it mattered in Europe’s top tournament.
Five out of ten for Hojlund, Shaw, Maguire, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, which isn’t great. Goal scorers Garnacho and Scott McTominay got six, and leader Fernandes got the highest score with seven.
“We win and lose together,” Ten Hag said to the Cameroon goalie, even though he had just made a bunch of mistakes. Onana is fine. It’s not about specific people. Each mistake you make in football can matter, and you are responsible for them, but it’s always about the team.
“This team’s players all deserve to play for Manchester United because they are all great.”
“Our keeper group makes us very happy.” They do really well and put on good shows. They need to push each other.
The manager of Manchester United has to make a lot of important decisions about who will play in the team’s trip to Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.
