Dramatic comeback: Wataru Endo’s two goals in two minutes and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s superb volley gave the team a memorable win at Anfield

Jurgen Klopp said it felt “exceptional” when Liverpool came back from behind to beat Fulham in a stunning late comeback. This kept Liverpool’s perfect home record this season at Anfield.

“At 3-3, it was clear that the boys wanted more, and thanks to some good luck today, we got it,” Klopp said. For everyone who was here, it was a great event. The Liverpool manager also said, “I don’t think anyone would have thought before the game that Liverpool vs. Fulham would be a game that you will never forget in your life.”

In the first half, Fulham came back from two goals down to tie the game at 2-2. When Bobby De Cordova-Reid scored in the 80th minute, Marco Silva’s team looked like they were going to win by a surprise. But second-half goals from Wataru Endu and Trent Alexander-Arnold put Liverpool two points behind the league leaders.

Klopp said, “I’ve seen a few games, but I’ve never seen a game with this many worldies.” “What a crazy free kick by Trent!” You could see that Macca’s (Mac Allister) foot is fine today before the game. It was really him who shot… He must have thought the same thing I did: “Wow, you should try it!”

“Wataru Endo was very important.” It was great that he came on. Clutch challenges, great passes, and a great goal. Then Trent. I really don’t know why I didn’t see that ball go in; I was probably turning at the time. “I haven’t watched it all again, but I thought they were all great,” Klopp said.

After his vice-captain scored a late goal, the German was full of praise for Alexander-Arnold.

“That was the most important thing: he was a real leader on the field.” That’s most likely the best change since last season. He got an extra boost when we pushed him a little further inside at that point, Klopp said.

Joel Matip hurt his knee, which made Liverpool’s win a little less satisfying. So far this season, the center back has been in every game, but Klopp said Matip’s illness would “not be a short one.”

Marco Silva, the manager of Fulham, said that his team did not deserve to lose.

“The game owed us a lot more than what it gave us,” Silva said. “We played really well at Anfield. We tied the game twice, scored a great team goal, and are now in the lead. It wasn’t easy, but we did it.” With the free kick and the great hit from Mac Allister, they scored two world-class goals. It’s not easy to prepare for these kinds of games.
