🚨 BREAKING: Rhys Williams recalled by Liverpool , He leaves Aberdeen without a SINGLE senior appearance.

Rhys Williams has been called back to Liverpool from his loan deal at Aberdeen. The news was made public on Wednesday on the Reds’ website and social media accounts. After his short-term move to Scotland was cut short, the defender is now back at Anfield. At first, the loan was meant to last the whole season, or until the summer of 2024.

The 22-year-old’s return gives Jurgen Klopp more choices at center back. Klopp doesn’t have many choices at center back after Joel Matip hurt a key ligament. Robertson and Tsimikas, two left backs, got hurt, so the boss had to play Joe Gomez on the left, which made things even worse.

Liverpool may have been thinking about calling up Rhys Williams even if they had all of their defenders available. The 22-year-old player never played for Aberdeen’s main team. No one was getting anything out of the deal.

Because he hasn’t played much, it looks like he’ll be a big deal at Anfield at most. Klopp does have other center backs besides him, though.

Rhys Williams has stepped up before when Liverpool had a long list of injuries. He bravely took on the task with Nat Phillips three years ago. They worked together to help the team finish in third place after a rough season.

Rhys will almost certainly get to play because Liverpool’s manager is set to make a lot of changes to his team for next week’s FA Cup and Carabao Cup games against Arsenal and Fulham. Klopp has a lot of fitness problems in defense to deal with after a busy schedule leading up to Christmas and the holidays.

Because they have so many injuries, Liverpool will be actively looking for defensive choices in January. It’s very likely that Rhys’s return to Anfield will not last long. Liverpool might be able to send Rhys out this month if they are able to sign players. If that doesn’t happen, though, the kid will probably leave the club anyway in the summer.
