The Red Devils want to add to their team this winter and are considering a number of different choices. It looks like getting a new midfielder is one of their top goals.

The newspaper Goal Brasil says that United has seen Ederson as a “promising name” and has already “made contact” with the 24-year-old’s family.

The team led by Erik ten Hag has not yet made an official offer to sign the Brazilian star, but they are thinking about doing so.

He was bought from Salernitana for €15 million in 2022. His Atalanta deal has a high release clause that has not been made public.

United has a tough job ahead of them to get Atalanta to sell Ederson.

People know that the Serie A team is tough to work with, and United saw that this summer.

The club wanted to get Rasmus Hojlund for about €60 million, but they had to pay €85 million, which included add-ons, to get the Denmark international.

With this in mind, it doesn’t look like Ederson will be moved. Atalanta could ask between €40m and €50m for the player, which United might not be able to pay this winter.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe hasn’t heard back from the Premier League about his small investment yet, but he doesn’t plan to make any big moves this transfer window.

At this point, the club is only interested in loan deals. Timo Werner of RB Leipzig has recently become a real option for the Red Devils as they look for a new forward.
