Inter Milan made an offer to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but Manchester United turned them down.
The Italian giants have made United an offer to trade Denzel Dumfries for a Dutch wing-back, but United are not interested. The 26-year-old right back Wan-Bissaka has started ten games for Erik ten Hag this season, even though he missed more than a month with a hamstring injury. He is a valued part of the team.
His deal was set to end at the end of this season, but United have now exercised an option that keeps him at Old Trafford until 2025.
It’s still a surprise that Inter chose to offer Dumfries, who has played 18 times this season.
Dumfries, who is 27 years old, is still one of the best scoring right backs in Serie A, and he has also given Filippo Inzagi’s team a lot of chances.
His deal with the Nerazzurri ends in June 2025, though, so he could still leave in the summer.
They can’t agree on a contract because he wants £80,000 a week but Inter is only giving £35,000 a week.
Inter is currently one point behind Juventus and has a game in hand. They need to sell players to meet Italian Financial Fair Play rules.
United, on the other hand, are seventh in the Premier League, 16 points behind leaders Liverpool. The Red Devils have been interested in Dumfries since 2022. He joined Inter from PSV for about £12 million in 2021.
The full-back is liked by Ten Hag, who has been keeping an eye on him for two years.
In 114 games for the Italian giants, he has scored nine goals and set up 18 others.
