The defeat of great rival Barcelona against Girona helped Real Madrid win the La Liga championship 4 rounds early. This is the 36th La Liga championship in Los Blancos’ history.

In round 34 of La Liga 2023/24, Real Madrid easily crushed Cadiz with a score of 3-0 at Santiago Bernabeu’s home field. This was a match in which coach Carlo Ancelotti left many key players on the bench, but Real Madrid still won too easily.

Real Madrid is 14 points ahead of rival Barcelona, and they will win the championship if Barcelona does not win against Girona. That really happened when Barcelona lost 2-4 in the highlight match of the round. Thus, the Catalan team lost to the team from the same city, Girona, in both matches with the same score of 2-4.

On a day when Girona’s attack was so sublime, Barcelona could not resist and had to sadly admit defeat. Barcelona fell to third place after round 34, 14 points behind Real Madrid, and became the former king of La Liga. Barcelona officially has nothing in the 2023–2024 season; this is a very unstable season for coach Xavi and his team.

For Real Madrid, coach Carlo Ancelotti’s team is experiencing a very successful season. Up to now, Real Madrid has won the Spanish Super Cup, won La Liga, and still has the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich at the Santiago Bernabeu next week. This is a great opportunity for Los Blancos to win their third title in the 2023–2024 season.
