On a frustrating night for PSG, the hosts were unable to convert a flurry of chances to overturn the existing deficit. With the forward line lacking a clinical touch, it was left to Gianluigi Donnarumma to deny Karim Adeyemi the opening goal with a reactionary save in the first half.

Yet, it was the visitors who eventually broke the deadlock. From a corner, Mats Hummels drifted behind Lucas Beraldo and headed the ball into the back of the net to, momentarily, silence the home supporters.

Dortmund boss Edin Terzic then made changes and switched to a back-five formation, which afforded PSG lots of possession. Cross after cross came into the box, with the French side hitting the woodwork four times inside the 90 minutes. The ball wouldn’t go in, though, and Dortmund held on to keep their European title hopes alive.
