Aiming for a Strong Finish in His First Season: Pochettino and the Team Focused and Ready for Another Win

The Chelsea squad undertook a final training session at Cobham this morning as we completed our preparations for tomorrow evening’s trip to Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Blues’ final away fixture of the campaign takes us to the south coast, where victory would put us one step closer to securing European football for the 2024/25 campaign.

Pochettino will take charge of his 50th game as Chelsea head coach and is aiming for a strong finish to his first campaign at the club.

‘It is really important to remain strong, Pochettino said. ‘With our mentality and, of course, our real belief, we can get European qualification. It’s true that the last two games are going to be really tough.

‘Tomorrow we play Brighton, who are a very good team and it is going to be really tough to play. And then Bournemouth at home. But always, the most important thing is to believe that the team is doing well in the second part of the season.

‘It is going to be tough but I think we really believe we can compete well in the last two games and have the possibility of get to Europe. That would be amazing for us.’

The Blues head to Brighton in good form, with Saturday’s excellent win on the road at Nottingham Forest being our third consecutive victory.

That win saw Christopher Nkunku feature off the bench for the second game in a row following his return from injury. And the Blues forward was one of those working hard ahead of our trip to the Amex.

A further boost could be around the corner, with Ben Chilwell also spotted in team training.

The trip to Brighton may come too soon for the England international and teammate Carney Chukwuemeka, who is at the same stage, but could feature before the end of the season.

The reverse fixture saw us secure a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the Seagulls at Stamford Bridge, with Enzo Fernandez netting twice.

Defender Benoit Badiashile helped open the scoring that day when his cross picked out Fernandez’s head for our first goal and the French international was one of those out on the grass on Tuesday.
