Liverpool in Talks to Sign Aston Villa Player Worth £50 Million, Praised as ‘Outstanding’ by Steven Gerrard

Jurgen Klopp might have only just heard the door shut behind him on the way out of Anfield, but Liverpool’s transfer plans are already shaping up, it seems.

The Reds are going into the summer with Michael Edwards back at the helm and a new manager, Arne Slot, looking to make his mark by replacing Klopp.

Of course, we all know by now that Liverpool’s transfer policy isn’t strictly linked to what the manager wants or asks for.

Edwards, along with Richard Hughes, will have a plan, and there’ll be a number of players on the list of potential signings for the summer window.

And according to reports emerging today, the Reds could go and make their move for one of Aston Villa’s most promising midfield players.

Liverpool are keen on signing Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey

According to a report from The Telegraph today, Liverpool are among a cluster of clubs keen on signing Ramsey in the summer.

Villa are preparing for a Champions League campaign but that means they must also comply with PSR rules and, in turn, potentially sell a few this summer.

The report mentions how Diego Carlos is a player they could move on for big money.

However, if they don’t, then young midfielder Ramsey is another who could be considered for sale at around £50 million, given his homegrown status.

It’s claimed that Liverpool, Tottenham, and Newcastle are all huge admirers of Ramsey, who is still only 22.

There are a few young players in the league now who the likes of Liverpool can’t pass up on if they’re available, and Jacob Ramsey comes into those conversations.

The midfielder has been brilliant for Villa, and former Red Steven Gerrard has previously lauded the youngster as ‘outstanding’.

“I thought his performance today was outstanding. A few weeks ago, we had to change his position for the sake of the team, and he was very selfless in his application to do that,” Gerrard said back in 2021.

“I think he moved back to his preferred position tonight, and I thought his all-round performance was outstanding.”

Liverpool, then, will likely be in the mix here, and if he’s impressed by a legend like Gerrard, then that will do for a lot of Reds fans.
