Chelsea wants midfielder Enzo Fernandez to focus on preparing for the new season with the team instead of joining Argentina’s Olympic team at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Enzo Fernandez is old enough to attend the 2024 Paris Olympics with the Argentina Olympic team. Because this is not a FIFA tournament, clubs are allowed to refuse to release troops.

Initially, Chelsea was willing to create conditions for Enzo Fernandez to participate in this tournament. However, the plan changed after coach Enzo Maresca reached an agreement to lead the Blues.

The 44-year-old coach is very fond of Enzo Fernandez and built the Chelsea squad around him. Therefore, Chelsea’s Board of Directors wants midfielder No. 8 to focus on preparing with the team for the new season in July and August.
