Once again demonstrating his creative flair, artist Jordan Dawson crafted a unique pair of customized boots for Enzo Fernandez, which the Chelsea midfielder sported over the weekend during the match against Manchester United.

Jordan Dawson is rapidly establishing himself as the top choice for elite-level professional players seeking to inject some extra style into their footwear. Recently, he’s customized boots for Darwin Nunez, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Alexis Mac Allister, among others. Now, he’s turned his attention to Enzo Fernandez, a teammate of the latter on the international stage. For this project, he has adorned a Nike Mercurial Vapor with special details that pay homage to the Argentinian midfielder’s status as a World Cup champion.

 

Fernandez showcased the personalized boots during the 0-1 defeat to Aston Villa over the weekend, sparking more speculation about his future brand affiliation. Recently, Fernandez has been seen wearing different Nike models, deviating from his usual Phantom GX, and, notably, even sporting a pair of PUMA Ultras. This shift hints that his partnership with Nike may be coming to a close. Now, he’s exploring new options with his footwear and has enlisted Dawson to create a unique version of the Mercurial Vapors.

The boots appear to be Mercurial Vapor XIII, potentially from the ‘Nuovo White’ pack initially launched in late 2019. However, there seems to be a distinct customization, as the soleplate doesn’t have the split design characteristic of that model. The heel showcases a fading blue diamond geometric pattern, where the lighter blue merges with the white base, symbolizing the colors of the Argentina national team, while the darker blue correlates to Chelsea. Gold accents embellish the Swoosh outline, three stars denoting Argentina’s three World Cup victories, and heel additions, with “AFA” on the left and “E8” on the right.
