Despite creating many opportunities, Brazil still had to receive a draw before Copa America 2024.

Brazil has its last friendly match with the US national team before entering the quest to conquer the Copa America 2024 title. Even though they have to play away from home in the Orlando Citrus Bowl, Brazil is still rated much higher than their opponents.

As expected after several missed opportunities, coach Dorival Junior’s team scored a goal to break the deadlock in the 17th minute. Taking advantage of an inaccurate flick on the American team’s home field, Guimaraes cut the ball. Right in the middle of the field, Raphinha took the ball and poked it as if it were for Rodrygo. The Real Madrid star handled the first step neatly before launching a dangerous cross-angle shot to increase the score to 1-0 for Brazil.

However, America showed that it was not easily bullied; only 9 minutes later, the game was brought back into balance. The person who spoke up was none other than the most notable name on the US team, Pulisic. The AC Milan star had an excellent breakthrough and was fouled right in front of the penalty area. Taking advantage of a great opportunity, Pulisic hit a clever shot to defeat Alisson. The score is 1-1.

 

Entering the second half, Brazil was still the team with the initiative. Dangerous opportunities were continuously created by the yellow-green team, but a goal was something coach Dorival Junior’s team could not find.

The draw result probably did not bring satisfaction to the Selecao, but for the US team, it was a very strong doping drug before the official tournament on their home field.

Copa America 2024 will start on June 21 with the confrontation between Argentina and Canada.
