France beat Belgium 1-0 thanks to a lucky goal, thereby winning the right to enter the quarter-finals of EURO 2024.

France and Belgium are among the teams that have made the worst use of their chances in the EURO 2024 group stage (taking many shots, scoring few goals). Meeting in the round of 16, the two teams continued to make the audience impatiently wait for a goal. The place in the quarter-finals was only decided by an own goal at the end of the match.

However, in reality, most of the chances created by the French team were not very threatening. The only shot on target among them was a shot from outside the box by Antoine Griezmann.

The game did not change much in the second half. France continued to press the field while Belgium focused on defense.

The highlight of the match came in the 85th minute. Kolo Muani’s shot hit defender Jan Vertonghen’s leg and went into the net. The opening goal of the match was counted as an own goal by the Belgian player.

There was not enough time left for Belgium to turn the situation around. A lucky moment at the end of the match helped France qualify for the quarter-finals of EURO 2024.
