Marca (Spain) chose the worst squad for Euro 2024, and many stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku were included.

Ronaldo is the only Portuguese player named in this squad. The 39-year-old star played in all five matches at Euro 2024 but did not score a goal and only provided an assist for Bruno Fernandes to score against Turkey.

In addition to Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku is also named in this squad. The number one striker of the Belgian team had many unfortunate missed opportunities in the matches against Slovakia and Ukraine, preventing the Belgian team from winning.

The defense in this lineup includes Croatian goalkeeper Livakovic, defenders Zinchenko (Ukraine), Christensen (Denmark), Mancini, and Di Lorenzo (Italy).

The three midfielders in Marca’s worst Euro 2024 squad include Szoboszlai (Hungary), Milinkovic-Savic (Serbia), and McGinn (Scotland). In addition to Ronaldo and Lukaku, the attack line also includes Vlahovic (Serbia).

Marca is Spain’s most widely read daily newspaper, with more than half of the country’s sports readership. The Madrid-based newspaper is close to Real Madrid and often features positive aspects of the team.

Marca commented: “Ronaldo comes to Euro 2024 to write a new page in history, with a record sixth time participating in Europe’s top football tournament. He also wants to close the last Euro by scoring and bringing Portugal to glory, like in 2016.

But it was all a disappointment. CR7 only scored on penalties and ended Portugal’s streak of 10 consecutive major tournament scoring goals.
