Nico Williams opened the scoring for Spain in the 47th minute of the Euro 2024 final, but Cole Palmer equalised for England in the 66th minute. Mikel Oyarzabal’s goal in the 86th minute gave Spain their fourth Euro title, while England’s players were left distraught at the final whistle.

 

Cole Palmer has been one of England’s bright spots at Euro 2024, despite not starting. Chelsea’s player of the season has only been on the bench, but he has made a huge impression.

 

 

Cole Palmer equalizes for England against Spain

The 2002-born player assisted Ollie Watkins to score the winning goal for England 2-1 against the Netherlands in the 90th minute in the semi-final, Palmer then equalized 1-1 for the Three Lions in the final, but England still had to accept a 1-2 defeat.

Cole Palmer was disappointed after England’s defeat to Spain, but insisted the Bulls deserved to win, telling ITV Sport: “Spain have been fantastic throughout the tournament, everyone saw what they can do, so congratulations.

 

We got to the final again, there are positives to learn, but everyone wanted to go further and we are disappointed we didn’t do that.”
