Harry Maguire Inching Closer to Return from Injury After Stepping Up Rehabilitation Program at Carrington

The defender did not travel with the squad to Monday’s first pre-season friendly against Rosenborg, but is training individually on the grass at our training ground as part of his own recovery plan. Our cameras captured the 31-year-old in action out on the grass earlier this week, alongside Tyrell Malacia, who is also undergoing his own fitness programme.

Maguire is working individually at Carrington to make sure he’s ready for 2024/25.

VIEWGALLERYMaguire last played for the Reds in late April’s 1-1 Premier League draw with Burnley, a week before a club statement confirmed the player had sustained a muscle injury. That issue kept him out of the remainder of United’s season, including the memorable Emirates FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City.

Maguire was named in England manager Gareth Southgate’s provisional squad for the 2024 European Championship, but did not make the final cut, revealing on Instagram that he had not been able to overcome a problem with his calf.

But just days after the conclusion of Euro 2024, where his national colleagues narrowly lost in the final to Spain, our no.5 appears to be drawing nearer to a return to full training.
