A rain of goals was created by Man City and Barca within the framework of the 2024/25 pre-season friendly match.

Man City faced Barcelona at Camping World Stadium, Florida, USA, in a series of friendly matches before the 2024–25 season. The match was exciting, with many notable situations, and ended in a 2-2 draw.

Right from the first minutes, both teams entered the game with confidence and created an open game. In the 24th minute, from a central attack, Pau Victor of Barcelona broke through and shot past goalkeeper Ederson, helping Barca take a 1-0 lead.

Manchester City quickly responded and put strong pressure on Barcelona’s goal. In the 39th minute, Josko Gvardiol made a delicate pass for Nico O’Reilly to escape; this young player easily defeated goalkeeper Inaki Pena in a face-to-face position, equalizing the score 1-1 for the Citizens.

However, the advantage once again belonged to Barcelona in the final minute of the first half. From a low cross from the left wing, Pablo Torre received the ball and eliminated the Manchester City defender before finishing past goalkeeper Ederson, raising the score to 2-1 for Barca.

 

After the break, Man City attacked strongly. In the 60th minute, Mateo Kovacic passed three Barca players before passing the ball to Jack Grealish, who finished past Inaki Pena, bringing the match back to balance at 2-2.

The rest of the match saw a tug of war between the two teams, with many other players being brought on to test tactics. In the end, Man City drew 2-2 with Barcelona after 90 minutes of play.

This result can be considered satisfactory on the debut day of coach Hansi Flick at Barcelona, ​​but it is a disappointment for Man City as they have gone four consecutive matches without knowing victory.
