On July 15, Joshua Zirkzee officially completed the procedure to join Man Utd in this summer’s transfer window. The Red Devils did not spend 40 million euros to activate Zirkzee’s contract termination clause due to concerns about affecting the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.

 

Instead, they have agreed with Bologna to pay in excess of €40m to complete the deal, but the payment will be spread over three years, helping Man Utd overcome financial constraints.

 

After completing his Man Utd debut, Zirkzee did not join his teammates to go to the US for the summer tour like Leny Yoro. The reason is that he was allowed to take a summer break because he had to attend EURO 2024 with the Netherlands team.

 

It seems that the long break has left Zirkzee not in the best physical condition.

 

Accordingly, the Dutch player did not feel completely comfortable during training.

 

At times, Zirkzee sat down, grimacing. It seemed the striker was having trouble getting back into high-intensity exercise.

 

It’s only pre-season, after all.

 

Zirkzee still has plenty of time to get back to his best form soon.
