After Switzerland’s World Cup exit, Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka shared pictures of himself and his family relaxing on a yacht in Dubai.

 

 

 

For Mikel Arteta’s team, the thirty-year-old Arsenal player made the trip to Qatar in outstanding form.

And he was outstanding in the Middle East, as he helped the Swiss overcome Serbia and Cameroon to go to the round of 16.

Then, though, they were totally outclassed by Portugal and lost 6-1.

 

Xhaka has had almost three weeks to rest and recuperate before starting his Arsenal career again after their elimination from the competition on December 6.

 

Arteta’s team plays its first game back against West Ham on Boxing Day.

They also have friendlies set with Juventus back in the Emirates and Milan in the UAE before that.

Even yet, Xhaka is clearly enjoying his much-needed vacation from the field, as evidenced by the pictures he recently posted to social media of himself and his family.

 

 

He was accompanied on the yacht by Leonita Lekaj, his spouse, whom they married in 2017.

On the holiday, he was also joined by his two daughters, Ayana, age three, and Laneya, age one.

When Xhaka plays again, he wants to help Arsenal keep their five-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League rankings.

The Gunners haven’t won the league since 2004. Nevertheless, this might be their best chance since then.

 

After their match against West Ham on December 26, they will host Brighton and Newcastle before playing Oxford United in the FA Cup third round on January 9.
